About us

dpp.gs is operated by Sensoneo, a worldwide leader in the digitization of the circular economy. We did not arrive at digital product passports from software looking for a problem — we arrived from running the national systems that already track billions of individual items through their return, reuse and recycling, every day, under regulatory scrutiny.

The passport is the same discipline applied to a new obligation: give an item an identifier, make it resolve anywhere in the world, keep the data correct for years, and be able to prove all of it to an authority. Sensoneo is a registered Economic Operator in the EU DPP Registry.

The track record behind the platform

Deposit-return schemes are unforgiving infrastructure: a whole country's retail estate depends on them, every transaction is money, and the regulator audits the numbers. That is the engineering culture dpp.gs is built in.

To be straight about what these numbers are: they are Sensoneo's existing track record, not dpp.gs customer counts. We show them because they are what the passport platform inherits — the same team, the same infrastructure, the same compliance posture — not because we are claiming that many passports.

dpp.gs runs in the EU, with a second region in the United States so a passport resolves quickly on either side of the Atlantic. Wherever a passport is created, its QR code keeps working everywhere.

What we are, and what we are not

Compliance vendors are easy to over-promise with. These are the limits we will tell you about before you buy, rather than after.

We are a DPP service provider

We host your passport, serve it to whoever scans the code, hold the backup link the EU Registry points at, and keep it resolvable for the product's life. That is the obligation the Registry actually checks.

We supply the seal, we do not issue it

As an authorised reseller we provide your QSeal and run the declaration signing with you, so the whole enrolment happens in one place. The certificate itself is still issued by a qualified trust service provider on the EU trusted list — we are not a QTSP and will not claim to be one. We also validate the sealed file against the Commission’s own reference implementation before it is submitted, which is what stops a rejection.

You stay the economic operator

Legal responsibility for the product and its data sits with you, and no platform can take that on. We can carry a great deal of the work, and as an authorised representative we can carry the EU-side identity — but the responsibility is not a feature anyone can sell.

We say when a rule does not apply to you

Most product groups have no electronic passport obligation yet. We would rather tell you that your sector is still waiting on its delegated act than sell you urgency you do not have.

Your data is yours to take

The passport schema and API spec are public and MIT-licensed, and passports export in open formats. Building on us should be a decision you can revisit.

Sensoneo is a registered Economic Operator in the EU DPP Registry. We went through the enrolment, the seal and the verification ourselves — which is why the guidance on this site is specific rather than generic.
